The city was awarded a grant and basically the goal is to get everyone in the city reading “Call of the Wild” by Jack London.  Beginning on March 8 and lasting through the end of May there will be many activities and events taking place in the city related to this story.

March Is Reading Month!!

Can you believe that March is here already?!  March not only means better weather, but it means that children allover the district are celebrating the love of reading!

This month, McDonald students will be Reading Under the Big Top with a circus theme.  Your child has probably already brought home a reading calendar and reading log.

photoYesterday, students were surprised by our special visitors, Clifford and Amy Annie the Clown.  The fun duo made a GRAND entrance during morning assembly and kicked off March is Reading month with a bang.

Please remember that we would LOVE to have YOU come read to your child’s class.  If you would like to be a Mystery Reader, please fill out the form in the Reading Month packet and return it to school.  Remember…it’s a secret…so do not tell your child you are coming!

Saying Goodbye!

It is with deep regret that I inform you that our World Language teacher, Mrs. Omari has decided to leave the district. The staff and students are sad to see her go.

Until this position is filled by the district, substitute teacher, Miss Hassan will be taking her place.
