McDonald Elementary School is proud to host a Parent Talk workshop with Margaret King-Ahmed.  A note will be sent home soon with registration information.  Classes will be held on Fridays in the McDonald Cafeteria from 9:00-10:30.  For your planning purposes, the dates for sessions are below.

January 12, 19, 26.

February 9, 16.

March 2,9,16, 23.

Graduation: March 28, 2018

Wacky Science Assembly and Science Field Trip

Last month our 2nd graders went to the Michigan Science Center to explore and have hands on experience with science concepts.

Yesterday, all of our students learned about solids, liquids, gases, pushes and pulls all from one amazing assembly “Wacky Science”.

Important Message About GSRP (Early Childhood)

Attention: Families with Preschool age children who are 4 years of age by December 1, 2017.  There is an immediate possibility of free full day preschool beginning in January 2018 in the Dearborn Public Schools (next month). The family must be eligible based on risk factors and not currently enrolled in a GSRP program.  If interested, families may pick up an application at the Cotter Early Childhood Center, 13020 Osborn or call Nadia Berry at 313-827-6150.
Please respond immediately as slots are limited.
Families must live in the city of Dearborn.

McDonald Literacy Night

Wednesday, December 6 will be our school wide literacy night. McDonald families can join us from 5:00-6:30pm for fun literacy based activities.

We will also be having a visit from Santa! Pictures with Santa will be $3 or 2 for $5. Face painting and raffle tickets will be sold for $1. Make sure you stop by the Book Fair in the Media Center too!

Robotics Volunteers Needed!

Hello Everyone!
As you might already know, Dearborn Public Schools is hosting a FTC State Qualifier AND FLL Jr. Expo on Saturday, December 9th at McCollough Unis School (7801 Maple Street, 48126).
They are still SHORT the necessary VOLUNTEERS needed to have a SUCCESSFUL EVENT AND NEED YOUR HELP!
If you have volunteered for FIRST before, please log in and choose our Dearborn FTC event.  If not, please go to www.mcubots.us/volunteers for detailed steps on how to REGISTER TODAY. The screening/background check takes about a week.  You can fill a role even if you are not available the entire time.  Just indicate your availability when you register as a volunteer for the event. Most roles have on the job training.
Please, please, please HELP!  WE NEED YOU!  Your support will benefit 36 FTC teams and 14 FLL Jr. Teams of which 15 are DEARBORN ROOKIE ROBOTICS TEAMS.
