Greetings McDonald Community,
The following information is being shared to provide a better understanding of the unfortunate situation that occured at our school today.
Around 12:15 pm on Friday, March 15, 2024 a student walked out of the school after getting a drink of water. The school immediately began to look for the student and contacted the School Resource Officer to assist. Additional officers responded and the student was located a short time later just over a mile from the school. Fortunately the student was not harmed or injured. Parents were contacted and I, along with several district administrators, spoke with the parents to explain what had occurred.
This uncommon incident does not reflect the procedures or practices followed by staff members for the safe supervision of students. The district is conducting an investigation to determine the facts of how this situation occurred. If any staff members are found to have not followed procedures then they will be held accountable.
The safety of students while at McDonald School is always a priority and all staff take great care to ensure the well being of all students. By continuing to work together and keep an open line of communications our students will continue to thrive and be successful while at school.

في حوالي الساعة ١٢:٢٠ ظهر يوم الجمعة الواقع في ١٥-٣-٢٠٢٤ ، خرج أحد الطلاب من المدرسة بعد شرب الماء. بدأت المدرسة على الفور في البحث عن الطالب و اتصلت بمسؤول موارد المدرسة للمساعدة من شرطة مدينة ديربورن. استجاب ضباط إضافيين وتم تحديد موقع الطالب بعد وقت قصير على بعد ما يزيد قليلاً عن ميل واحد من المدرسة. ومن حسن الحظ أن الطالب لم يتعرض لأذى أو إصابة. تم الاتصال بأولياء امر الطالب وتحدثت أنا والعديد من مسؤولي المنطقة مع أولياء أمر الطالب لشرح ما حدث.
لا تعكس هذه الحادثة غير المألوفة الإجراءات أو الممارسات التي يتبعها الموظفون للإشراف الآمن على الطلاب. وتجري المنطقة تحقيقًا لتحديد حقائق كيفية حدوث هذا الوضع. إذا تبين أن أي موظف لم يتبع الإجراءات، فسيتم محاسبته.
تعد سلامة الطلاب أثناء تواجدهم في مدرسة ماكدونالد أولوية دائمة ويحرص جميع الموظفين على العمل المستمر لضمان سلامة جميع الطلاب. من خلال الاستمرار في العمل معًا والحفاظ على خط اتصالات مفتوح، سيستمر طلابنا في الازدهار والنجاح أثناء وجودهم في المدرسة.
