I-READY Reading & Math Assessments – Kindergarten to 5th Grade

Dear Parents/Guardians:
Your child will take the Mid-year Math and Reading I-READY Assessments starting on Tuesday, January 17, 2024. The results of this test will be used to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year. Each test will take approximately 40 to 60 minutes to complete and will be administered on two different days. I-READY assessments are unique in that they adapt to your child’s appropriate level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward school. On the I-READY assessments Kindergarten- 5th grade. Students will be tested in Reading and Math.
I Ready Math: K-5 students will be assessed on the following math topics/concepts:
- Numbers and Operations: Understanding of basic arithmetic, the use of numbers and their basic properties.
- Algebra and Algebraic Thinking: Recognizing patterns, understanding mathematical relationships, and using symbolic reasoning.
- Measurement and Data: Understanding of measurement tools, units, and systems, as well as collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Geometry: Recognition and understanding of shapes and their properties, spatial awareness.
I Ready Reading: K-5 students will be assessed on the following reading topics/concepts:
- Phonological Awareness: Recognizing and working with sounds in spoken language.
- Phonics: Understanding the relationship between letters and the sounds they represent.
- High-Frequency Words: Recognizing common sight words that appear frequently in text.
- Vocabulary: Knowledge of the meaning of a wide range of words and word relationships.
- Comprehension: Literature: Understanding, interpreting, and analyzing narrative text.
- Comprehension: Informational Text: Understanding, interpreting, and analyzing expository text.
Please remind your child of the following test-taking tips.
Before the Test:
*Develop a positive attitude. Tell yourself, “I will do my best on this test.”
*Get a good night’s sleep the night before the test.
*Get up early enough to avoid hurrying to get ready for school.
*Eat a healthy breakfast.
During the Test:
*Relax and Stay calm.
*Listen carefully to the directions your teacher gives.
*Ask questions if you don’t understand what to do.
*Read each question carefully. Find the key words. Try to figure out what the question is really asking.
*Read the entire question and look at all the answer choices.
*Use strategies you learned in class to figure out the answer
*Take your time picking the best answer

٨ كانون الثاني/ يناير ٢٠٢٤
أولياء الامور/ الاوصياء الاعزاء:
سيخضع طفلك لتقييمات منتصف العام للرياضيات والقراءة I-READY بدءًا من يوم الثلاثاء الموافق ١٦ كانون الثاني/ يناير ٢٠٢٤. سيتم استخدام نتائج هذا الاختبار لتحديد المستوى التعليمي لطفلك وقياس النمو الأكاديمي من أول العام الدراسي وحتى منتصف العام الدراسي.. سيستغرق كل اختبار حوالي ٤٠ إلى ٦٠ دقيقة لإكماله وسيتم إجراؤه في يومين مختلفين. تعتبر تقييمات I-READY فريدة من نوعها من حيث أنها تتكيف مع المستوى التعليمي المناسب لطفلك. ونتيجة لذلك، يتمتع كل طالب بنفس الفرصة للنجاح والحفاظ على موقف إيجابي تجاه المدرسة. في تقييمات I-READY، سيتم اختبار الطلاب في الرياضيات والقراءة .
سيتم تقييم طلاب الروضة الى الصف الخامس في إمتحانات I- Ready في موضوعات/مفاهيم الرياضيات التالية:
- الأرقام والعمليات: فهم العمليات الحسابية الأساسية، واستخدام الأرقام وخصائصها الأساسية.
- الجبر والتفكير الجبري: التعرف على الأنماط، وفهم العلاقات الرياضية، واستخدام المنطق الرمزي.
- القياس والبيانات: فهم أدوات القياس والوحدات والأنظمة، بالإضافة إلى جمع البيانات وتحليلها وتفسيرها.
- الهندسة: التعرف على الأشكال وفهمها وخصائصها، والوعي المكاني.
سيتم تقييم طلاب مرحلة الروضة حتى الصف الخامس وفقًا لموضوعات/مفاهيم القراءة التالية:
- الوعي الصوتي: التعرف على الأصوات في اللغة المنطوقة والتعامل معها.
- الصوتيات: فهم العلاقة بين الحروف والأصوات التي تمثلها.
- الكلمات عالية التردد: التعرف على الكلمات الشائعة التي تظهر بشكل متكرر في الكتب/النصوص القراءة
- المفردات: معرفة معنى مجموعة واسعة من الكلمات والعلاقات بين الكلمات.
- الفهم: فهم النصوص/القصص الأدبية والتفسير/ والتحليل.
- الفهم: النصوص المعلوماتيه: فهم النصوص المعلوماتيه والتفسير/ والتحليل.

نحن متحمسين جداً لبدء حقبة جديدة تركز على الإنجاز والنمو الفردي لكل طالب. يمكن لأولياء الأمور والمعلمين التأثير إيجابيا على حياة الأطفال من خلال العمل معاً لمساعدة الطلاب على التعلم.
يرجى تذكير أولادكم بالنصائح التالية:
قبل الاختبار:
* أن يكونوا إيجابيين من خلال القول: “سوف أبذل قصارى جهدي في هذا الاختبار”.
* النوم جيدا قبل الاختبار.
* الاستيقاظ في وقت مبكر لتجنب الاستعجال للوصول إلى للمدرسة.
* تناول وجبة فطور صحية.
أثناء الاختبار:
* الاسترخاء والهدوء
* الاستماع بعناية لتوجيهات المعلم
* طرح الأسئلة إذا لم يفهموا ما يجب القيام به.
* قراءة كل سؤال بعناية والبحث عن الكلمات الرئيسية في السؤال لمعرفة ما هو المطلوب.
* قراءة السؤال بأكمله والنظر إلى كل الخيارات الموجودة في الجواب.
* أخذ الوقت واختيار أفضل إجابة
