McDonald students are taking part in a school wide food drive. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are being asked to bring in food items that will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank. Suggested items include:
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Healthy cereals
- Canned fruit (in light syrup)
- Canned vegetables
- Peanut butter
*please do not send in perishable items or items in glass containers*
Last day for donations is Monday, December 12th
Tomorrow , November 16, will be our first last start. School will begin at 9:35. Students should not arrive earlier as the doors will be locked. Please remember that students should eat breakfast before school since breakfast is not served on late start days.

Please make sure you come at your scheduled time in order to receive a copy of your child’s report card and talk about his/her progress this school year.
Our 5th graders had a hands on learning experience today when they went shopping at the fruit market in order to prepare a Thanksgiving feast on Friday. Students used problem solving, cooperation and real world connections at the fruit market.

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Continue reading
