Every wonder what your children are doing in gym class? Well thanks to Mrs. Blasko, our gym teacher, you can watch a sneak peek at some of the learning happening in gym!

Our 2nd grade team put together a GREAT parent meeting! The students in Ms. Ford’s and Mrs. Hachem’s classes came together to teach their families about Math Workshop.
Students played games that reinforced many concepts including addition, time, money and measuring.
From the looks of it–fun was had by all!

There are so many activities taking place this week! Here are some reminders of what’s happening at McDonald School:
**PTA Raffle–the PTA is hosting a raffle. We are raffling off a Nintentdo DS XL and two games!! Tickets are $1 for 1 ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. Tickets can be purchased before or after school.
The drawing will take place at the PTA meeting on Friday, December 19th at 8:45a.m. PTA meetings are held in the cafeteria on the 2nd floor.
2nd grade teachers will be hosting a parent meeting on Friday, December 18th at 2:30p.m. The meeting will explain the math workshop model as well as give parents strategies and tips for helping their children with math at home.
Winter Break will begin at the end of the day Friday, December 19th. School will resume on Monday, January 5, 2015! The staff and administration wish you a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!
You can sign up your one to six year old for monthly free books by filling out the registration form below:
Your child will receive monthly books with questions you can ask before, during, and after you read the story. This is a great opportunity to sign up one or more of your children!
We are very fortunate to have added a preschool class to our building! Mrs. Roe, the preschool teacher and Mrs. Ibrahim, her teaching assistant have a classroom of 16 students.
Today, they paired up with their 4th and 5th grade buddies from Mrs. Wagner’s classroom. They shared books with their preschools friends and even helped them with an art project!
